ECISD Library Refresh Project
The Education Foundation of Odessa has announced a $1 million investment to refresh elementary school libraries across Ector County ISD.
Each library transformation includes new books, updated furniture, and a unique design inspired by the school’s mascot and identity.
With the first library now complete, we’re excited to share the transformation and look ahead to the next two projects at Sam Houston Elementary and Blackshear Elementary.
A New Chapter at Murry Fly Elementary
The first library refresh is complete at Murry Fly Elementary!
As part of the Education Foundation of Odessa’s $1 million investment in ECISD libraries, Murry Fly’s library has been reimagined with new books, updated furniture, and a unique design inspired by the school’s identity.
What began as a vision for a more welcoming and engaging learning environment is now a reality for Murry Fly students.

The Next Chapter: Sam Houston & Blackshear
With Murry Fly Elementary’s library refresh complete, we’re turning our attention to the next two ECISD libraries: Sam Houston Elementary and Blackshear Elementary.
Each library refresh represents an investment of approximately $250,000 and includes new books, furniture, and a thematic concept designed around the school’s mascot and identity.
We’re excited to bring these two libraries to life and create welcoming spaces where even more ECISD students can read, learn, explore, and grow.
